Skills Immigration - Entry Level and Semi-Skilled

The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category of the British Columbia PNP program was designed to provide workers in tourism and hospitality, long-haul trucking and food processing occupations obtain permanent residence in BC. If you want to immigrate in this category, you need to secure employment in the province in one of the industries mentioned above.

To qualify under this category, you will have to meet specific requirements:

  • You need to receive and accept a valid job offer for a full-time permanent position from a BC employer in one of the qualifying industries: tourism and hospitality, food processing, long-haul trucking.
  • If you intend to live in the Northeast Development Region of BC, you can apply in any NOC occupation (skill level C or D).
  • You need to prove that you have been working for your employer for at least nine months before applying for Canada PR under the PNP program.
  • You have to meet the minimum language and education requirements.
  • You need to qualify for the job you’ve been offered and perform all the required duties.
  • Your wages should be within the wage rates for your occupation in BC.
  • Your immigration status in Canada must be legal.
  • You need to show that you can provide support for yourself and your family during Canada immigration.

Your employer also needs to meet certain requirements. They need to support you throughout the entire process of British Columbia immigration, provide the necessary documentation and fulfill their responsibilities during the application.

In order to apply, you will need to create an account on the BC PNP online system. After you share all the required information, you will be given a score based on your skills and job. Regularly BC PNP selects the candidates with the highest scores and invites them to apply.
