LGBTQ2+ couples can now pass down Canadian Citizenship to their foreign-born children. Earlier, the Citizenship Act only allowed foreign-born children to be automatically recognized as Canadian citizens if they were biologically related to a Canadian parent but with the new amendment, foreign-born children whose Canadian parents are not biologically related to them have the same right to Canadian citizenship as children birthed by Canadians.
