Atlantic Provinces attract international students.

According to data by the Association of Atlantic Universities, there are over 19,000 international students studying in all four Atlantic Provinces, which is 24,7% of the total students in the region. This year demonstrated a 20% increase in international students studying in 16 universities in Atlantic Canada. In 2019, Canada already issued 960 study permits for students coming to study in Newfoundland and Labrador, 665 study permits for international students admitted in Prince Edward Island, 4,670 study permits for the new student in Nova Scotia, and 1,605 study permits for those enrolled to study in New Brunswick. As of July 31, IRCC issued 7900 study permits for the international students in the Maritime. In 2018, Atlantic Canada admitted 17,840 foreign students.
