Eligibility Requirements for SINP for Health Professionals Sub-Category
A single application procedure exists for all aspiring health professionals who want to settle in Saskatchewan. However, the program eligibility differs between occupations.
Physicians
The program targets eligible physicians already practising medicine with a recognized provincial healthcare organization.
- If you want to apply for physician sub-stream, you must have a valid work permit.
- You must have at least 6 months (780 hours) of experience before your application.
- You must work for a provincial health authority or the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
- You must produce a full-time, permanent job offer letter from the same employer.
- You must demonstrate a valid medicine practitioner license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CoPSS).
- Your degree or education must be equivalent to a Canadian medical degree.
Nurses
Objective: The sub-stream aims to give PR to licensed and registered nurses who are already working as full-time nurses in Saskatchewan.
- Valid Work Permit: You must demonstrate a valid work permit.
- Work Experience: You must have been working for the Saskatchewan Health Authority for a minimum of 6 months before application.
- Job Offer Letter: You must demonstrate a job offer letter from your current employer.
- SINP Job Approval Letter:
- Employer Registration: Your employer must be registered online.
- Assessment Submission: Employer submits an assessment to SINP.
- Approval & Letter Issuance: After submission of your assessment by your employer, the SINP will approve and then your employer will receive a Job Approval Letter.
- Must hold a valid nursing license in Saskatchewan issued by one of the following:
- SALPN: Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses.
- RPNAS: Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan.
- SRNA: Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association.
Other Health Professionals
If you are a skilled professional who is presently working in Saskatchewan as a full-time, permanent worker with a provincial health authority, you apply for this sub-stream to get a permanent resident status in the province.
- Work Permit: You must have a valid work permit and have already been working for a health authority in the province.
- Experience: You must have at least 6 months of full-time work experience before your application.
- Job Documentation: You must show a Job Offer letter and Job Approval Letter.
- Licensing: If your job demands proper licensing or certification, you must produce the necessary license or certificate.
- Language Proficiency: If your job is for a position at NOC TEER 4, then you must demonstrate your language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 or higher.
- Education/Training: You must demonstrate one year of post-secondary education or job-specific training.
